Tổng quan lý thuyết thì hiện tại đơn (overview simple present tense)
I/ Cấu Trúc (Form)
Chúng ta sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn để nói về những điều nói chung, những điều luôn đúng và những thói quen. Điều đó không quan trọng là hành động đang xảy ra tại thời điểm nói.
1/ Khẳng định – Present simple (Positive)
I/ You/ We/ They + Verb
Ví dụ:
We go to the theatre every Saturday.
(Chúng tôi đi xem phim mỗi thứ 7 hàng tuần)
They speak English very well.
(Họ nói tiếng anh rất tốt)
I love to cook at the weekend.
(Tôi thích việc nấu ăn vào cuối tuần)
He/ She/ It + Verb (s/es)
Ví dụ:
She speaks English.
(Cô ấy nói tiếng anh)
He smokes cigarettes.
(Ông ta hút thuốc)
The bank closes at 5 o’clock.
(Ngân hàng đóng cửa vào lúc 5:00 chiều )
2/ Phủ định (Simple present negative)
Subject + Don’t/ Doesn’t + Infinitive Verb
Ví dụ:
You don’t live in that house.
(Bạn không sống trong ngôi nhà đó)
We don’t want to stay in that house.
Chúng tôi không muốn ở trong ngôi nhà đó)
He doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
(Anh ấy không nghĩ nó là một ý kiến hay)
Maria doesn’t write to me very often.
(Maria không viết thư nhiều cho tôi)
The Government doesn’t wants to cut taxes.
(Chính phủ không muốn cắt giảm thuế)
3/ Câu hỏi – Present simple question
Question Word + Do/ Does + Subject + Infinitive Verb
Ví dụ:
Where do you live?
(Bạn sống ở đâu?)
What time does your brother arrive home?
(Mấy giờ anh trai của bạn về đến nhà?)
Do we leave now or at Seven o’clock?
(Chúng ta đi bây giờ hay là 7h00 mới đi?)
Does your brother work in the city?
(Anh trai của bạn làm việc ở thành phố à?)
How often does your sister have a holiday?
(Chị gái của bạn có nghỉ phép thường xuyên không?)

4/ Câu hỏi ngắn – Short question
Ví dụ:
A: Does Tom live in a big apartment?
(Tom có ở trong một căn hộ lớn phải không?)
B: Yes, He does. NOT Yes, she lives.
(Vâng, Anh ấy ở đó)
A: Do your parents like going on summer vacations?
(Bố mẹ của bạn có muốn đi lễ hội mùa hè không)
B: No, they don’t.
(Không, họ không muốn)
II/ Cách dùng
1/ Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả một chân lý, một sự thật hiển nhiên
Ví dụ:
The sun rises in the East
(Mặt trời mọc ở đằng đông)
2/ Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả một thói quen, một hành động xảy ra thường xuyên ở hiện tại
Ví dụ:
I get up early every morning
(Tôi dậy sớm mỗi sáng)
3/ Thì hiện tại đơn còn được dùng để diễn tả hành động sự việc tương lai sẽ xảy ra theo thời gian biếu hoặc chương trình, kế hoạch đã định theo thời gian biểu
Ví dụ:
We spend four days in Da Lat
(Chúng tốn 4 ngày ở trên Da Lat rồi)
4/ Các phó từ thường được dùng chung với thì hiện tại đơn
-Often usually, frequently: thường
-Always, constantly: luôn luôn
-Sometimes, occasionally: thỉnh thoảng
-Seldom, rarely: ít khi, hiếm khi
-Every day / week/ month: mỗi ngày/ tuần, tháng
