1/ Trường hợp đặc biệt khi thêm ‘s’:
Đối với động từ khiếm khuyết can, may, might, must, thì không thêm ‘s’. Example: he can, she may, it must. 2/ Đằng sau động từ tận cùng là: o, ch, sh or s, thêm es. Example: do – he does, wash – she washes Sau một phụ âm, phụ âm cuối y trở thành ie. (nhưng: không phải sau một nguyên âm) Example: worry – he worries |
1/ Trường hợp đặc biệt khi thêm ‘ing’ :
a/ Âm ‘e’ câm sẽ bị lược bỏ. (Nhưng không áp dụng với -ee) Example: come – coming b/ Sau một nguyên âm ngắn, được nhấn mạnh, phụ âm cuối được nhân đôi.. 1/ Thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả một thói quen, một hành động xảy ra thường xuyên ở hiện tại (sử dụng với regularly, often, never…)

1/ Hành động đang thực sự diễn ra ngay lúc nói

Động từ bất định (Certain Verbs)
Các động từ sau đây thường chỉ dùng cho hiện tại đơn (Không dùng cho dạng hiện tại tiếp diễn)
1/ Sở hửu (possession): belong, have
Example: She has a cat (Cô ấy có một con mèo)
2/ Giác quan (senses): feel, hear, see, smell, taste, touch
Example: She feels the hot (Cô ấy cảm thấy nóng)
3/ Cảm xúc (feelings): hate, hope, like, love, prefer, regret, want, wish
Example: Tam loves Guitar (Tam yêu thích Guitar)
4/ Công việc trí óc (brain work): believe, know, think, understand
Example: I believe you (Tôi tin vào bạn)
5/ Mệnh đề giới thiệu cho câu nói trực tiếp: answer, ask, reply, say
Example: “I am watching Movie,“ he says (“Tôi đang xem phim”, Anh ấy nói)
